THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
Perhaps the most famous symbols of love, the red roses found in the Still Life Vanitas with Cranius painting are a testament to a couple deeply in love or possibly just starting out a new relationship. The white candle resting inside of the golden candlestick symbolizes the pull that people have toward a light, as a candle often guides a person through a dark space. With the cranium found in the bottom of the photo, this image takes a turn for the deep, showcasing a love that is prepared to endure until death do they part and continue their passionate love even in death.
